A 'Stay Home Order' Guide to Self Care

Updated: Apr 21, 2020

Like so many of us, I am stuck at home and am quickly running out of ideas for things to do. I am a believer that the more we fill our days with the things that feel good, the less stressed and anxious we will be.

Here are 5 ways to practice self-care & bring joy into the world:

#1 Give yourself a mani or pedi (or even better-both!)

I insist of having my nails done on a regular basis because it always makes me feel so much more put together and polished but now my bi-weekly salon trip is 6 weeks past due and these talons are not looking too hot. Here are some of my go-to’s for at home nail care:

#2 Fake a tan

A sweet friend of mine recently sent me a bronzing gel, and at first, I was waiting to try it for when I would actually be out and about with appointments and events, but then I realized I deserve to glow even when I’m camped out at my house. Here’s the amazing product I received & loved:

You should definitely try this one for yourself! Megan is very generously offering you all a discount using this link:

#3 Nourish your locks with a hair mask or deep treatment & collagen gummies

Never underestimate the power of a good hair day, even when the sky is falling:

#4 Apply a skin treatment

It may feel like you’ve aged 10 years, your face doesn’t have to look like it has:

#5 Read a book

I can hardly stand to admit it, but it has been ages since I’ve physically read an actual, real- life book. With so many amazing podcasts and audible, my books come in the form of spoken words. I recently joined a book club and I am forcing myself to slow down and read the actual book and I LOVE it! Here are some of the books I’ll be reading this year:

1. Evvie Drake Starts Over: A Novel: Linda Holmes

2. Maybe You Should Talk To Someone: A Therapist, HER Therapist, and Our Lives Revealed | Lori Gottlieb

3. The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo: A Novel | Taylor Jenkins Reid

4. Such A Fun Age | Kiley Reid

How have you been taking care of your self during this time of isolation and uncertainty? I'd love to hear your tips!! Warmly,
